Day 19 – “Heaterz”
“WU TANG clan aint nuthin to fuck wit!!!! i was the biggest WU head!! with the exception of OUTKAST and UGK, no group had more of an impact on me than the WU….
this record was one of the standouts on the WU TANG FOREVER album…..i remember, cuz i waited in line at blockbuster music to buy that shit…that was before all this internet downloading…when people actually gave a fuck about buying albums….”

Carter 3…..THE VERDICT IS IN
May 31, 2008

HIGHLIGHTS: “MR. CARTER”, “TIE MY HANDS”, “LET THE BEAT BUILD”, “MISUNDERSTOOD” and “SHOOT ME DOWN”.

Overall, the Album lacks the Firepower you’d expect on such a highly anticipated release.

Production Wise, its average…..Lyrically, Wayne sounds like he freestyled the whole album, doesnt sound like he gave it his all…..but his TRADEMARK SWAGGER still makes what he says “LISTENABLE”.

I think if wayne was a new artist, THIS ALBUM would be considered pretty good…..BUT WEEZY isnt a NEW ARTIST….HES THE SELF PROCLAIMED BEST RAPPER ALIVE, and this isnt the exact reflection of that.

out of 5 stars…..i gave it 3 and a HALF on first listen….a 3.75 on second listen….and then on third listen i thought , maybe 4 stars……

but ill stay with …….3.75 stars

Anticipation Builds…………..
May 30, 2008

I know….all you are anticpating LIL WAYNE’s “THE CARTER III”…..because alot of you grew up on weezy…..and i cant front, i fuck with weezy…..BUT after hearing the leak of his album……Im now on to the next big cd i wanna hear…..

i grew up on NAS…..truly one of my biggest hip hop influences…..he is set to release the now UNTITTLED new cd, formerly known as “NI***R” …..aka THE N WORD

I have very HIGH EXPECTATIONS

HIP HOP IS DEAD was a great CD…..I for some reason believe this HERE will BE EVEN BETTER

so for now, until this cd drops on JULY 1st

im bumping this:

WHATS NEXT????
May 30, 2008

So….Here we are….SEASONS OVER. I, for one, feel good about this…all season i had been saying to anyone who would listen, WE ARE TOO OLD. I am all for veteran leadership, but young legs and bodies come in handy down the stretch. Now, hopefully the Spurs will pursue a few fairly younger veterans, and grab two or three youthful bodies, and possibly convince their draft pick from last year, TIAGO SPLITTER, to leave a lucrative deal in SPAIN and come here. Splitter is 23 years young, 7-0 235 pounds, and after watching video of him play, reminds me of Dirk Nowitzki and Pau Gasol mixed in one.

Another Idea i have, HIRE AVERY JOHNSON! it doesnt look like Avery is getting a head coaching job anywhere this upcoming season (chicago, phoenix, and New york, all went elsewhere) and Popovich signed an extension thru 2012. Avery could help bring motivation and leadership to the bench, and walk right into POP’s shoes in 3 to 4 years.

Next year, we also would have a whole new team….HORRY, FINLEY, BARRY, THOMAS,STOUDAMIRE, and VAUGHN are all FREE AGENTS. i dont foresee them re-signing anyone except Vaughn, and maybe the aging THOMAS.

so NEXT YEARS ROSTER under contract:

TIM DUNCAN, TONY PARKER, MANU GINOBILLI, FABRICIO OBERTO, IME UDOKA

possible BIG NAME FREE AGENTS:

Antawn Jamison, Elton Brand, Jermaine O Neal, Ron Artest, Shawn Marion, Corey Magette, Gilbert Arenas

and ROLE PLAYERS

Gordon Giricek, Chris Mihm, Devin Brown, Chris Duhon, Matt Barnes, Theo Ratliff, Stromile Swift, Maurice Evans, Carlos Arroyo, Raef Lafrentz, Jannero Pargo, Desagana Diop, Ricky Davis

plus we have IAN MAHIMINI in the D league who is developing Quite well.

we have the 26th pick in the draft

CHRIS DOUGLAS ROBERTS, Memphis

Alexis AJINCA, FRANCE

Robin LOPEZ, Stanford

The spurs need the extra lift next season……a few great offensive players, a few good defenders (OUR STAPLE-that even during terrible offensive droughts, keeps us in games)

lets be real here-THE LAKERS HAD MORE IN THE TANK

GAME 1-we blow a 20 point lead, we win this game easy with just a little more offense

GAME 4-yes we played terrible, and caught some breaks to get back in it…..now if they call the barry-fisher foul, he hits all three free throws and we WIN….but regardless of whether barry was fouled, if we set that play up better, and go inside to tie, we more than likely WIN IN OVERTIME with all the foul trouble they were IN.

Game 5-we blow a 17 point lead, and just have nothing down the stretch to counter KOBE…..when tim duncan has a triple double, and we lose, their is something wrong

easily, this could of been SPURS 4, LAKERS 1

not to mention we didnt have a healthy MANU……

BUT NO EXCUSES….

DESTROY AND REBUILD!!!!

no big deal…we keep with the theme and win EVERY OTHER YEAR!

IM STILL STANDING STRONG!!!

Day 18 – “How I Could Just Kill A Man” “Cypress HIll……dammmmm…another group that had it on lock in the 90s….B-real was dope as hell with the signature nasal flow. this song set it off when it came out….i cant front, i still jam the debut album and BLACK SUNDAY albums…..i lived off VAnce jackson and cherry ridge when this dropped…and the ESES in the hood BUMPED THIS SHIT HARD!!! hell, even the WETOS, obviously did too…..cuz i did.”

TEXASMIXTAPES.COM……Question Interview…
May 30, 2008

We caught up with Mr. Kush himself, JMoney sits down with Texas heavyweight “Question” on his upcoming projects and what he’s smokin on.. he says he is High as a gallon of unleaded about now.. so lets READ!

TM: We Got The Future Of The South aka Mr Ridin So Slow Himself!! Whats Good Question?

Question:”ahhh, you know homie….HIGH as a gallon of unleaded about now….chillin'”

TM: Seems Like Nothing But Success Since Day One..Do Us The Honor & Let Folks Know Who You Are.

Question:” i know it seems that way…but alot of work went into making this a success, and there was alot of failures first….as far as me, im the “EX D-BOY with the B-BOY FLOW”…im like the TIM DUNCAN of RAP, mayne….Im not too flashy, but i get the job done. I’m a lyricist.  I take pride in being Creative…..shit, The Source magazine called me a “Lyrical Hotshot”, so i guess ill run with that. (LAUGHS OUT LOUD)…on the real though…(singing like LIL WAYNE)..BITCH, IM ME…IM ME…..

TM: Obviously Music Played A Major Role In Your Lifetime..What Influenced You The Most Growing Up?

Question:”life was my biggest influence. My daddy was a herion addict and a felon, You know the sob story, blah blah blah…but on the real, my mama raised me and taught me never to make excuses in life. and i always loved music..i wanted to be a DJ at first, but couldnt afford equipment….and i wanted to play an instrument…but couldnt afford that. so logically, being a rapper dont cost nothing…so i took the cheapest route available and ran with it…and the crazy thing is, its worked so far…..as far as what kind of music influenced me…HIP HOP!! OUTKAST, NAS, WU TANG CLAN, EMINEM< SCARFACE….im a fan and a STUDENT of this shit here….i study…i do my homework….to me, thats the only way to get better at this. Learn from the best that have ever done it……”

TM: You Been That Up & Coming Artist Putting In Work To Be Seen..What Advice Do You Give To Others Pursuing A Career In Music?

Question:”Work ethic, dog….dont sit around thinkin to yourself “IM SO DOPE, SOMEONE IS GONNA DISCOVER ME”, because its not gonna happen that way..Getting out there and hustlin’ is the only way it works…the tired ass “IM HUNGRY” Speech is BULLSHIT…it does not work…if your a hungry artist, then feed yourself….I had all the industry contacts in the world when i started from when i lived in LA…not until i sold 40,000 cds in the streets and got radio play did people in the industry talk to me or even have discussions about doing something…it takes alot of leg work to get to this point, and then when you do get signed, its ten times more the work……you just have to go after it.”

TM: The Dope Attic.Com..Question Running His Own Blog?? Speak On It.

Question:”yeah mayne…its the new age of technology…and a new way to reach your fans….i have fun with it. I also got this project im doing called “90daze” on there. Its a new freestyle everyday for 90 days over nothing but classic beats from the 90’s….i been getting a huge response from it.. I saw how artists like Croooked I and my man BAVU BLAKES were creating a huge online fanbase by dropping new freestyles every week….so i decided to take a step further and do a new one everyday….and its working, fam…i went from 200 views the first day to nearly 9,000 views yesterday. Gotta love the internet….”

TM: You Just Released The New Street Album Entitled “Xanax”..Why The Name Q?

Question: “its just keeping with the THEME….our movement in Texas is called “DOPE SUPPLY” and even though alotta people equate that to selling drugs…its not THAT. The word “DOPE” in hip hop is used to describe something thats GOOD…and we have a supply of GOOD music….DOPE MUSIC. my last cd was called “KUSH” which is the best strand of mariujana, in my opinion, and so i called this XANAX…another drug that can get your mind right. This Cd here does just that…takes your mind somewhere else…..you feel me?”

TM: What Separates This Release From Previous Ones?

Question:its more fluid to me….i feel im way more comfortable on this one. the last couple cds i put out , like “kush 2008” and “signed hype” (which was featured in the source magazine’s MIXTAPE SECTION) were me finding myself musically…i really feel like im getting better at this process of making songs, and it shows on this cd…

TM: Your 3 Favorite Songs From “Xanax”?

Question:”Shiny boots”, “Crashing Down” and “HIGH SCHOOL”. those are the songs that i bump….and i usually dont ever listen to my own shit.

TM: Your No Rookie When It Comes To Airplay..”Ridin So Slow” With Bun B & Sean Kingston And “That Boy Bad” With Gucci Mane

Your Now Causin Controversey With Your Latest Single “Dance Like A White Boy”..How Did The Record Come About?

Question:”just being frustrated….after i signed with EPIC, they started asking where my “dance club song” was….and i was like, “who in the fuck do u think you signed???”…and was really drunk and high in the studio and started making up some funny ass Bullshit and just recorded it….i never knew it would actually be taken seriously. A dj in chicago got ahold of it somehow and started playing it, and then the label got excited about it, and then Hamm at the BEAT in San Antonio started playing it and now a bunch of stations are adding it…so fuck it, if thats how i get attention, im down with it…because once people hear what type of music i actually make..and who i am as an artist they will become fans, and though i realize some people wont,…most people will understand it was a joke…just me having fun and clowning.”

TM: You Have Released A Long List Of Hits So Far..What’s Your Favorite Piece Of Music Ever Released?

Question:”PULL THE PLUG”…..IVE GOTTEN MORE POSITIVE FEEDBACK OFF THAT SONG THAN ANYTHING IVE DONE….AND “FANTASY” THE RECORD I DID WITH LIL WAYNE ON THE “DROUGHT IS OVER 2” MIXTAPE…..THOSE 2 RECORDS GOT ME A LOT OF ATTENTION AND REALLY HELPED BUILD MY FANBASE.

TM: Where do you see Question 5 years from now? 10 years from now?

Question:“MAN….ON A BEACH SOMEWHERE, WATCHIN MY KIDS PLAY…..MAKING POWER MOVES ON THE CELLPHONE SITTING IN MY BEACH CHAIR…(LOL). I WANNA BE IN A SITUATION, WHERE YOUR MONEY IS MAKING MONEY FOR YOU……AND IN FIVE, TEN YEARS I WANNA BE REMEBERED AS A GOOD DUDE WHO TRIED REALLY HARD TO MAKE GOOD MUSIC THAT PEOPLE STILL ENJOY…”

TM: When Can We Expect Another Question Cd To Drop? Anymore Mixtapes Or Singles Coming Soon?

Question:”In about 3 weeks i dropping the XANAX 2: THE OVERDOSE…..its a sequel to the Xanax….and im doing a few new projects as well…..by the end of the summer, their will be about 4 official Question mixtapes…plus where in talks to do a whole devin the dude/ Question street album.”

TM: What Can We Look Forward To In The Future?

Question:”better and better music………….i record new music everyday, and im literally obsessed with getting better at this shit…..im trying to go to that next level with this here.”

TM: Thanks for taking the time out of your day to answer a couple questions for texasmixtapes.com

Any last words, and what is the #1 site for Texas HipHop?

Question:“you know what it is kinfolk…..check out my myspace page, Myspace.com/Question….and yall know who run the texas hip hop game, TEXASMIXTAPES.COM!!!! appreciate yalll!!!

BUN B & LIL’ FLIP – MEDIA BLOW OUT?

“My homey D (Soundwaves Music) from Houston gave me some information on this so-called beef with Bun B and Lil Flip. You know Bun is the OG and when he talks, people listen. [Buy the new Bun B album II Trill!] So apparently Bun did an interview for a DVD magazine and Bun was asked about Question? & Bugsy being from San Antonio and also the situation between Lil’ Flip and Ron Artest (another fake beef). Apparently, Bun spoke his mind on the matters but things were taken way, way out of control. Here is a letter from somebody that can and did explain things WAY better than me:

Aint no beef ‘tween Bun & Flip! As you know Flip f**ks with Bugsy who recently got signed to Sony, and Bugsy is cool with Question who is signed to Epic. Then you also have Chamillionaire’s new artist Famous. All three guys are from San Antonio and recently things in SA have been shaky since the 3 went major. Bun heard bout the 3 get’n signed and wanted to talk with all 3, cuz he knows how a city can react once it’s elite go major (I remind you, once everyone in Houston -Flip, Mike Jones, Slim Thug, & Cham- everyone starting beefing and tripping with one another!) Bun doesnt want that! Houston, Dallas & San Antonio have become factors in Texas Hip-Hop and I’m sure Bun is trying to keep it that way! With him being big homey, he felt obligated to speak up before things went bad for the 3.

NO BEEF!”

so here is my RESPONSE:

for the RECORD, there has never been ANY BEEF between ME or BUGSY…im actually very cool with everyone over there @fyngermade PRoductions, fyngas, DJ DOUBLE R(the big homie),Full Clip Music Gang, etc…..i spoke with Bugsy today…very cool cat with a cool head, and makes very GOOD music…Im proud to say he reps MY city!

AS FOR, Famous, aka LIL KEN…there has never been anything but Love between us…his whole click are people i call friends….JAY LEE….Liveola, etc…..and i actually have an even stronger relationship with LONESTAR, a dude who looked out for me when i was homeless , living in the back of the studio…a real good dude. These guys are my Peers…we are all in this together in my eyes….and if one of them BLOWS…ill thank GOD…because for me, it has always been about SAN ANTONIO HIP HOP FIRST!! anyone that knows me, KNOWS ill help artists as much as i can…and do anything to help put some shine on this city i call home.

as far as the whole BUN B thing….he never reached out to any of us about the situation, but i heard he did comment on it, and said he hoped that SA artists stick together better than Houston Artists did when the H TOWN music scene blew up nationally….and i agree 100% percent

there is alot of dope ass talent here…and alot of hustlin’ ass go gettas in the 210…..POLAR PIMP, GREG G, BIG BIZ, Sweet P and LAMM entertainment, Big TEXXUS, J Phlame, Kyle LEE, Shame Gutta, LIVEOLA, young TX and A.N.T ENT, TY one, and so many more im forgetting on accident…..my bad..

Im actually getting ready to drop a DOPE SUPPLY album that will include some of the dopest emcees in the area on it…… AND me and my homie Polygrafic linked up with MIKE DUECE from DUECE MEDIA and are working on FADE DOGG’s NEW PROJECT……and i have the R&B super writer/ singer EDDIE B, who inked a deal with Cinematic, thru a production company i started with him…..and trust me, we got sum shit poppin….

THE reason i point this out is….i will never be on that ARROGANT SHIT….ITS NOT IN MY BLOOD…..IM too right with god to beef with cats over music…..i may beef over some real shit, but not this music …NEVER…my dream is to be a executive and help TALENT…i really dont do this rap shit for money or fame….i do it cuz i ACTUALLY LOVE IT…im a fucking HIP HOP BABY…..REAL TALK

so for the RECORD…NO BEEF…NEVER WAS ANY…and on my END, NEVER WILL BE

but i do appreciate whoever put this rumor out there…because me, FAME, and BUGSY just got $10,000 worth of promotion on a site that averages one million people a day……THANKS BUDDY!!!!

Day 16 – “Buck Em Down”
“this is a freestyle i had in the archives, but thought i would share with yall…..BUCKSHOT honestly dont get the props he truly deserves as an MC, but after i heard and saw him perform at SXSW, it reminded me how dope the dude really is….and evil dee and mr.walt made the ultimate combo with buck…..FYI..check out bucks new album The Formula with 9th wonder….Dope.”
